The South African general public is happy and grateful for the platforms and talks, as they keep the learners and youth in check and busy with something that will benefit them now and the coming future. Parents are happy that learners will get motivation and encouragement from these talks and this will build them to be better people in society.
The Annual Tshwane Youth Leadership Talk (TYLT) is an annual event by Agape Youth Movement (AYM). It is a platform for dialogue where young leaders discuss, to identify their current education challenges. Through these dialogues, they develop an intimate understanding and propose solutions. Delegates of this prestigious event includes learners in leadership positions (RCLs), Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Managers, government representatives, and NGOs with an education focus. We hosted an amount of more than 200 learners from across City of Tshwane. This event forms part of AYM’s first phase to a series of a number of interventions on youth leadership development in high schools under #Moetapele Learner Leader Programme. Other phases will include leadership camps, career expos, learner magazines and learner tool kits to facilitate a smooth transition from high school education to higher education. The video features: Thabang ‘Abuti Rams’ Ramoroka, Matsetsebale ‘Tsetse’ Tleane, Ndumiso Hadebe, Deputy-Minister in the Presidency Buti Manamela and the CEO/National Librarian Prof. Rocky Ralibipi-Semela.
